A Great Nano - Brewery!
Our second brewery opened in Tappahannock in July of 2023. We love this town and our faithful patrons! Take a few moments to get to know us better and then come on in for a delicious pint of the best craft beer in Tappahannock!
We are owned by Firefighters and embody the aspirations as seen on the 8 points of the Maltese Cross. We have pride in our jobs and love what we do. These values and characteristics are not just limited to firefighting but carry over to everything we do, including brewing beer! We hope this shows when you drink our beer.

Maltese Brewing Company was founded and started by Bobby Cook and Joseph Smith. These two firefighters have a passion for craft beer. When the two heroes were not saving homeless babies from their burning mansions, they loved getting together to create delicious home brews. After many more brewing sessions, they decided to sell their beer! Eight years ago they opened their first nano-brewery in Fredericksburg and less than a year ago, they opened a second nano-brewery in Tappahannock. Current owners are Brian Bailey, Everett Hinson, Booby Cook, and Bruce Bolieau.
Stephen Matters hales from King George and is one talented Brewer! When he's not brewing beer, he is drinking it for quality control purposes... of course!

We offer 14 to 16 delicious craft beers
An English IPA: On the nose it screams pineappely goodness. On the tongue, the bitterness of the Horizon hops hits you up front, then is mellowed out by the sweet fruitiness of the fresh pineapple. It finishes with the mild and succulent flavor of the Galaxy, Amarillo, and Denali hops that leaves you yearning for more.
. Farmhouse Ale - Saison: This our twist on a Belgian-Style Saison. It holds that classic Belgian sting you search for in most American Saisons, and ends with a beautifully clean, slightly peppery finish. One of our incredible starter brews.
Blonde Ale: Has all of the intangibles you want in a blonde. Mild, light, slightly sweet, and no matter what level of craft drinker you happen to be, you can enjoy this ode to a firefighter's favorite thing (second to saving lives aka being a hero).

Stout: Smooth, bourbon, and boozy. Locally roasted VCR coffee joins graham cracker, marshmallow, and chocolate in this super-limited variant of our annual big boy imperial milk stout.
American Light Lager: Cinnamon takes center stage in this light-bodied lager with a crisp apple finish.
Dad Bod New England IPA: Smooth, Hazy, and delicious. This "full bodied" IPA comes in a snifter only.
Brown Ale - American: With loads of whole vanilla beans and roasted malts, the nose on this brown is as beautiful as the Mona Lisa, with the taste equally as gorgeous. The menage trois of chocolate, victory, and caramel malts combine to create a lovechild that will trap you for eternity.
A light-bodied Kolsch with apricots and white-peppery finish, which stands on a fine line between an ale twang and lager smoothness.
Blue Raspberry sweetness leaving you wanting more!
Pale Ale - American: An American interpretation of a classic English style Ale. The American pale ale is characterized by floral, fruity, citrus-like piney, resinous, or sulfur-like American-variety hop character, producing medium to medium-high hop bitterness, flavor and aroma. American=style pale ales have medium body and low-to medium maltiness that may include low caramel malt character.
Sour - Berliner Weisse: Dry, tart Berliner Weisse with a champagne feel. Playful, bready, herbal funk hints.
Wheat Beer - Wit bier / Blanche. A top-fermented beer brewed with a larger proportion of wheat over malted barley. You will find this wit bier to be light bodied, smooth, and sweet with a clean finish.
Light, bubbly and sweet. We have many syrup flavors, which could be added.
A milky porter with hints of coffee and caramel.
A sweet, refreshing sour with mango and hints of pineapple. This sour can be served in a snifter rimmed with Chamoy sauce and dipped in Tajin spice.
We brew our own sodas.
